But do you look as old as I do? Funny you'd mention that...I hear it a LOT. Beyond my mom and wife, I'm a high school teacher and can tell you that 1) my look isn't "cool" to most of my students and 2) teenagers have no filter...they'll just tell you that you look like crap.

FORTUNATELY, I don't give a crap what any of them think. I like how it feels, and it reminds me all day of great times I've had playing music. I like to think it's my red Ferrari (although it's actually a girl repellent rather than the effect of a Ferrari--but I'm married and poor, so it saves me from the cost of a divorce).

I am 45 .... and I look about my age. I still get asked out by girls in their 20's often. But several girls have told me that I am getting a hair cut if they are keeping me around. I get a pretty good laugh at that.

That's too funny, I hear the same stuff, mostly from my friends who back in the day had really long hair. Now they have gotten a little "thin" on top. I still prefer longer hair too. I think I will grow it while I got it.
Jeff my Flexi #43 is still going strong, I use it most every day.

Niiiiice! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I certainly did for the years I had it. I'm now using a Soultone plexi-inspired circuit mostly, but have recently re-tweaked my Ceriatone JCM800 clone to lean a little more in that plexi direction. The former has Mullard xf2 6CA7s in it; the latter has TS 6550s, and I found this past weekend that it is the bomb for outdoor gigs!

Don't cut your hair... I've only been propositioned once since I lost mine... and she was drunk!

I share your take on the old JMP for live gigs, seriously considering buying a 4 hole 50 watt combo that's on offer for under £1000 here.

Excellent, young man. I've got mine set up so that I use 10s in standard tuning and 11s for the other band that is tuned down a half step. Works great! Think I already posted but, but the combination of Fralin High Output in the bridge, Un-bucker in the neck, push/push control to tap them, and oversized titanium block has made this guitar the bomb. Most of the time I use mine without the bar, and just reach back push/pull on the string locks. It's a toss up between this and my R7 mahogany top Custom...they make a great pair on gigs...one or the other is always the perfect guitar!
